The Hollywood Reporter Emmy Playbook 

During film and TV awards season, The Hollywood Reporter produces oversized playbooks which are sent out to film and TV studios as a reminder of why they should place 'For your consideration' ads for shows and films in their magazine and website during the season. Year after year, THR is the go-to content leader among the film and TV academy voters. 

In 2018, I worked closely with the marketing team at THR to ideate and design a book that would feel as special, rich and captivating as the magazine itself. Mixing THR photography with metallic covers, half-page inserts and lushly designed infographics. I brought on talented designer and infographics wizard Patty Alvarez (previously Design Director at Money magazine) to help with the research section charts.

L'Oreal Luxe WWD Advertorial

Each year, L'Oreal features the best of their luxury beauty counter associates. The advertorial runs in Women's Wear Daily. This year they decided to do a 6-page gatefold in the magazine and a homepage takeover on the website. 

Because there were 39 people to feature, the layouts needed to be as clean and simple as possible, but still eye-catching enough to get the viewer curious enough to open the ad pages or the links on the site. The beautiful photos were paired with bold, large, black typography. Not being the typical typographic treatment for beauty ads, it's successfully attention-getting while still looking special and luxury.

Grace-Penn Medicine

In 2013,  with the support of the government of Monaco under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II, Penn Medicine (University of Pennsylvania) and the Princess Grace Hospital of Monaco announced a formal collaboration in the areas of cancer and cardiac care.

This partnership connects physicians at Princess Grace Hospital with Penn Medicine’s world-renowned scholars, including cardiologists, surgeons, oncologists and radiologists.

I was asked to help them design a logo and brochure as part of its initial rollout. I utilized the talent of editor and writer Bethany Miga who I worked with at People magazine, and collaborated with on other Healthcare publications.

The Hollywood Reporter Media Kit

THR used my services for over 5 years of media kit design. Each year was updated to match the current look and feel of the magazine and update content. The design is engaging, easy to navigate, and demonstrates via compelling data the fact that THR is the first place the Hollywood industry and entertainment fans go for editorial content.

Billboard Media Kit

Billboard wanted a media kit that felt young, vibrant and fresh. The design is maximal in color and uses fun visual details to express the brand's uniquely important position in the music industry and with millennial music lovers.

Billboard Ad Campaign

Billboard needed a print and digital campaign to promote their Facebook Livestream from the Grammys red carpet. The ads took over Billboard's social banner images and the print version ran in Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter magazines. To match the gilded and edgy artist-focused look and feel of the Grammys, the facebook live "like" and "heart" icons were added as well as spray painted callouts both in metallic gold.

Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival

For the 2016 Billboard Hot 100 branding, Creative Director Liz Welchman assigned the crazy talented (and funny) illustrator Jared Nickerson. I was tasked with the design of marketing collateral and credentials for artists, press and VIPs.
